The challenge
BYY Strategic Services needed a secure panic application to combat rising crime and financial kidnappings in South Africa.
In South Africa, rising crime rates have introduced a dangerous trend of syndicates kidnapping individuals to forcefully withdraw funds from their bank accounts.
BYY Strategic Services recognized the urgent need for a robust emergency response solution. They required a native panic application, built in Swift and Kotlin, that would allow users whose lives are in danger to rapidly access armed support.
A critical requirement was ensuring the distress signal could be triggered entirely by voice command, even if the application was completely closed. Additionally, the brief demanded a complex user management system capable of handling both massive corporate employee rollouts and individual family subscriptions. Ultimately, the application had to bridge the gap between victims, armed security response teams, and major financial institutions to mitigate severe personal and financial risks.
The solution
We developed a native mobile ecosystem integrating voice assistants, third-party security APIs, and specialized banking webhooks to deliver immediate physical protection and robust financial fraud prevention for targeted victims.

Voice-Activated SOS Triggers
We integrated Siri and Google Assistant so users can speak a unique custom phrase to instantly activate emergency recording and live location sharing, even if the app terminates.

Financial Fraud Prevention APIs
We built external webhooks that notify participating banks during an active SOS, allowing financial institutions to sandbox accounts and successfully prevent criminals from withdrawing huge sums of stolen money.

Automated Security Force Dispatch
A custom API connects directly to a security contact center, instantly transmitting the user's location and microphone feed to rapidly dispatch armed response units to the exact emergency site.

Enterprise User Database Management
The platform supports diverse subscription tiers, enabling seamless database management for back-end loaded corporate employee plans as well as independent individual and family App Store subscriptions and access.
